Robert Lee Childs, 77, of Berryville, Virginia, died Tuesday, February 2, 2010 in the Winchester Medical Center after a prolonged illness.
Mr. Childs was born April 18, 1932, in Clarke County, Virginia, the son of Samuel David and Delpha Belle Garver Childs.
He retired from Smalley Packaging after many years of faithful service.
He was a member of Berryville Baptist Church and frequently attended Charles Town Presbyterian Church. Robert Lee never met a stranger.
Surviving are a sister, Mildred Zirilli of San Antonio, TX and his favorite kitty, Betsey.
Two sisters, Delpha Mae Warwick and Katherine C. Burns and three brothers, David Childs, Norman Broaddus Childs, and Owen Childs preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A. M. Friday, February 5, 2010 at the Enders & Shirley Funeral Home Chapel, Berryville with Pastor Donald Dick officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Berryville.
Pallbearers will be J. P. Burns, Richard Burns, S. David Burns, John Porter Burns III, Blane Zirilli, David Childs, Karl Moretz, and Richard Nicodemus.
The family will receive friends 10:00 – 11:00 A. M. Friday prior to the service at the funeral home.
